Travel Options to Sainte Foy and the French Alps

Sainte Foy is one of the more accessible locations in the Alps. There are four easy ways to get there:

- Self Drive
- Fly and Transfer
- Fly - Drive
- Train

You may wish to make your own arrangements - please just let us know your estimated time of arrival in the resort, so we can be ready to greet you.  If you would like advice or assistance, the Venture Sun customer service team are always here to help.

Fly and Transfer

There are a number of low cost airlines offering flights to our nearby airports:  Here are a few ideas:

EasyJet fly to Geneva and Grenoble from London Luton, Bristol and Bournemouth.
Ryanair fly to Grenoble from London Stansted.

The majority of our guests self-drive however, we can arrange transfers to and from the airports of Chambery, Grenoble, Lyon or Geneva direct to your chalet door.  This reliable and courteous service is a good way to relax for the final part of your journey.  Our drivers will be there at the arrival gate to assist with your luggage.  We pick up each party specifically to avoid waiting around and to maximise your holiday time in the resort.

The transfer service starts from £75 per person for both the collection and the return journey.

To speed up your journey even further helicopter transfers can be arranged.  In the event that the weather prevents helicopter transfers at the last minute, then we will ensure a road transfer alternative is on hand.

Fly - Drive

Lyon (120 miles / 2 1/2 hours), Grenoble (120 miles / 2 1/2 hours), Geneva (92 miles / 2 3/4 hours) and Chambery (72 miles / 1 1/2 hours) are the most regularly used airports and are served by a variety of charter, scheduled and low-cost airline services.  The most appropriate airport will depend on availability from your departure point in the UK.  Our customer service team keep themselves up to date with the latest offers and can offer advice.

Once in the Alps, most of the well known car hire firms are available.  Again we can make recommendations if necessary.

Train

Rail travel across Europe goes from strength to strength, and is arguably the best way to relax and get into the holiday spirit the moment you leave your door.

The train goes from London St Pancras to Bourg St Maurice, where our resort team can arrange your transfers straight to the chalet, approximately a 15-20 minute drive.

There are day or overnight services available.

Self Drive

Driving from the UK, Sainte Foy is 600 miles from Calais, of which approximately 550 miles is on motorway.

Channel crossings can be done by Tunnel, Ferry or Hovercraft.

For Driving Directions, we recommend http://www.viamichelin.com/viamichelin/int/tpl/hme/MaHomePage.htm as a very useful website to get route maps, directions, overnight B&B's and other driving information.

We would advise caution with Sat Nav route choices... sometimes the route can direct you past Geneva, through the Mont Blanc tunnel to Aosta in Italy, and back of the San Bernardo pass and La Rosiere to Sainte Foy.  This is a very picturesque route, but the road through the pass is windy and much slower than the Sat Nav will calculate.  In Winter, Spring and early Summer, the pass can be closed, and you would have to reverse your route.

Instead, look for the route from Calais to Reims, Dijon, Lyon, Chambery, Albertville, Moutiers, Bourg-St-Maurice and then Sainte Foy.

Whichever way you choose to get here, our team are available to advise on your travel arrangements, and once in the resort, we will be here to welcome you from your journey and ensure your Venture Sun holiday starts the moment you arrive.

We are looking forward to seeing you!
