As we develop this page specifically for Venture Sun summer holidays, we've also included the questions our winter holiday team are asked...

Are you bonded?
Yes, we are compliant with the 1992 Package Tour Regulations including having £2 million public and client liability insurance with Towergate Finance, Europe's largest independently owned insurance organisation. Venture Ski is not a travel agent and therefore does not require a bond like ATOL or IATA. Trading for many years in Sainte Foy we are the largest luxury catered chalet operator in the resort and the only Sainte Foy-based operator offering a sterling credit card facility, which insures your payment until after the holiday has been delivered.

Where is Sainte Foy?
In the Isere Valley, Savoie, high in the French Alps. The area is also known as the Haute Tarentaise or ‘Vanoise'.  Sainte Foy is just across the valley from Les Arcs and 15 minutes along the valley from Tignes and Val d'Isere.

Is the Resort Snow-sure?
Yes it is.  The Ski Club of Great Britain's Historical Snow Report shows Sainte Foy having an average minimum of 61cm and maximum of 188cm throughout the whole season (mid-December to late-April).

What else is there to do (other than ski and board)?
Sainte Foy is famous for it's stunning forest Raquettes walks (aka snow shoeing).  There is also paragliding, Husky dog sledging, ski touring and walking, not to mention relaxing in our 10 metre swimming pool, having a massage in our treatment room or relaxing in the sauna and Jacuzzi.  A short drive to neighbouring Tignes or Val d'Isere offers ice-skating, shopping, ice-karting and many other past-times.

Do you cater for celiac or other special diets?
Yes we do.  Each of our chalets has it's own Cordon Bleu chef who will specifically create each menu to your tastes, desires and dietary requirements.

Where is your closest airport?
Chambery is the closest airport to all of the western side of the French Alps.  It is about one and a half hours by road to Sainte Foy.

How do I find the resort from Geneva Airport?
Easy, just follow the signs for ‘France' then, when you've crossed the border, head for ‘Annecy', then Albertville, then Bourg St Maurice and then Haute Tarentaise & Sainte Foy Station!  Please download our directions, and if you have any trouble, give the resort a call on the numbers at the bottom of the directions.

How do I find the resort from Lyon Airport?
Even easier! Just follow the signs for ‘Chambery' then Albertville, then Bourg St Maurice and then Haute Tarentaise & Sainte Foy Station!  Please download our directions, and if you have any trouble, give the resort a call on the numbers at the bottom of the directions.

What are your transfer days?
Unlike almost every other ski holiday company, Venture Ski does not have fixed transfer days.  This is because our holidays are designed for you, not us!  We even recommend you travel on weekdays in order to avoid higher priced flights and congested airports and roads.

Do I need to bring child seats for airport transfers?
You are welcome to bring your own child seat(s).  However, for your convenience we have a full selection of car seats for babies & toddlers and boosters for older children.  (Note that France does not have the same child seat laws as the UK).  So simply inform us at the time you make your booking and we will have the right seat fitted in your vehicle when we collect you from the airport.

Which airlines are best to get to the Alps?
Here are a few ideas:
Flybe fly direct to Chambery from Southampton, Birmingham, Exeter and Norwich.
Jet2 fly direct to Chambery from Leeds Bradford and Manchester.
EasyJet fly to Geneva and Grenoble from London Luton, Bristol and Bournemouth.
Ryanair fly to Grenoble from London Stansted.
Flyglobespan fly to Geneva or Chambery from Edinburgh.

How do I pay, and when?
We accept debit/credit cards, cheques or direct bank transfers.  Your booking is secured by a £200 per person deposit and your holiday balance is payable 10 weeks prior to departure.

Should I get ski insurance?
Yes. We strongly recommend to all our guests that they have comprehensive winter sports travel insurance.  This is also a requirement of our booking terms and conditions.  The cover given on most credit cards is usually not good enough for example.  In addition to this cover we recommend you add the ‘Carre Neige' insurance onto your Sainte Foy ski pass, it's about £2 per day and ensures your evacuation off the mountain.  In the event of an accident, you are transported from the slopes to the hospital and all charges are taken care of without additional cost or bureaucracy.
